About the Year Planner
A year planner gives you a bird's-eye view of the entire year on a single page. It's ideal for project planning, tracking deadlines, and seeing how holidays and weekends fall across the year. Our planner supports public holidays for 100+ countries.
How to Use the Year Planner
- Select a year -- Choose the year you want to plan from the dropdown menu. The current year is selected by default, with options for two years prior and three years ahead.
- Choose a country for holidays (optional) -- Select a country from the Holidays dropdown to highlight public holidays on the planner. The United Kingdom is selected by default.
- Toggle week numbers (optional) -- Enable the Show week numbers toggle to display ISO week numbers alongside each row of dates for easier business and project scheduling.
- Generate the planner -- Click Generate to create the year planner with your chosen settings. All 12 months will appear in a compact four-column grid.
- Print in landscape -- Click Print / Save PDF to open your browser's print dialog. Select landscape orientation for the best fit, then print or choose "Save as PDF" to download a digital copy.
How It Works
The year planner is generated entirely in your browser using JavaScript. When you click Generate, the tool calculates the calendar grid for all 12 months of the selected year, determining the correct starting day of the week and number of days for each month. If a country is selected, the tool fetches public holiday data from the Nager.Date API and highlights those dates on the grid with a warm background colour.
Week numbers are calculated using the ISO 8601 standard, where week 1 is the week containing the first Thursday of the year. When you print, a dedicated stylesheet hides all interactive controls, navigation, and advertisements, leaving only the clean planner grid. The layout is designed to fit neatly on a single landscape A4 or Letter page, giving you a professional wall planner with no unnecessary clutter.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I print this year planner for free?
Yes. Click Print and use landscape orientation for the best results. You can also save it as a PDF from your browser's print dialog. There are no watermarks, no sign-up required, and no limits on how many planners you can generate or print. The tool is completely free.
Does it show UK bank holidays?
Yes. Select United Kingdom from the country dropdown to highlight UK bank holidays on the planner. The holiday data covers England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland and is sourced from the Nager.Date API, which tracks official government announcements.
Can I print all 12 months on one page?
Yes. The year planner is specifically designed to display all 12 months in a compact four-column grid that fits on a single page. Use landscape orientation and A4 or Letter paper for the clearest output. The print stylesheet removes all non-essential elements for a clean result.
